Confused About Content Marketing? Figure It Out'Fast!

content marketing tips for b2bIf you're like most businesses, you understand the importance of content creation. According to a B2B content marketing infographic, which can be seen here (fourth infographic down), 90% of B2B marketers do some sort of content marketing and 60% plan to spend more on content marketing in the next 12 months.

But if creating content is so important, why is it so hard to do sometimes? Not to fear, you're not alone in your content slump. In fact, there are so many others out there like you, that there's an infographic below that shares 22 ways to create content. I'm going to pick out my 4 favorite tips, but you can check it out for yourself and see what works for you.

Take a Walk

Keeping your brain active is one of the best ways to get new ideas flowing. If you're sitting and staring at the computer screen hoping for words to magically flow out of your fingertips, you'll sit forever without a blog post. Get up and walk around your office or take a walk around the block. The new scenery and movement could be just what you need to write that blog!

Review Something

Looking at other businesses or products can be great research for your own company, so why not share what you've learned with people who might benefit from reading your review? When you talk about how businesses are doing something well and why it makes them successful, people will want to incorporate some of those strategies in to their own business plans. When you review a new product that didn't work for you, readers will appreciate your honesty because of the time it will save them. Whatever you write about will draw attention to you and your company.

Share Your Failures

One person's failure is another person's success. Maybe that's not the exact saying, but it still holds true. By sharing your failures, whether they are personal or professional, readers will see that you are human, too. They'll learn from your mistakes and you'll be reminded about how you once thought you knew everything'oh to be young again.

Use Name Recognition

You can jumpstart a great blog post by using inspiration such as movies, television, books or comics. The examples in the infographic are 'What Batman Can Teach You About Blogging' and 'The Criminal Minds Guide to Avoiding Procrastination.' Incorporating some type of pop culture gives people something to relate to while learning about the information you really want to make a point about.

Hopefully at least one of these tips will help you with your content creation. If you need more inspiration, check out these 5 Free Content Creation Templates.
